Halifax Man with Asbestos Illness Appeals for Help from Former Crossley Carpets Workers
25 Jul 2019
A Halifax man diagnosed with mesothelioma, a type of cancer in the lining of the lung often caused by exposure to asbestos dust decades earlier, is appealing for help from former workers of or contractors who worked for Crossley Carpets or John Crossley and Sons Ltd at their premises in Dean Clough, Halifax in the 1960s and 1970s.
Ken Shaw worked for John Crossley and Sons Ltd in the 1960s and 1970s and was exposed to asbestos dust. He worked in different sheds and in the dye house. He believes he was exposed to asbestos dust when he worked around maintenance men disturbing asbestos in the buildings including asbestos lagging on pipes.
The company employed lots of maintenance workers including fitters, electricians, joiners and painters and decorators who worked all around the premises. The company also used contractors who worked on large maintenance and refurbishment jobs. Such tradesmen are likely to have come across, disturbed or worked around others disturbing asbestos.
Ken has instructed specialist mesothelioma lawyer Fozia Hussain of the Halifax office of The Asbestos Law Partnership to investigate his contact with asbestos all those years ago and help him obtain justice for the ordeal he and his family are now going through.
“Ken is sadly another Crossley Carpets’ worker affected by asbestos illness from working at the company’s premises in Halifax. We know the company’s buildings contained asbestos materials. We know from previous cases workers were exposed to asbestos when maintenance was carried out. We are asking anyone who worked for Crossley Carpets or its associated companies at Dean Clough, Halifax and recalls coming across Ken to come forward and tell us of their experience of the working conditions at Crossley Carpets. Any information will be welcome.”
Anyone who can help Ken is requested to contact Fozia Hussain or Luke Thomas at The Asbestos Law Partnership LLP on Freephone 0808 164 3730, on 01422 728822 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com
